Fire crews rescue window washer stranded outside Streeterville building

Updated: July 5, 2012 2:38PM

Fire department crews helped a window washer who was stuck on the outside of a Streeterville building Thursday get back onto the roof.

Just before 11:15 a.m. fire crews were called to 233 E. Superior St. for an emergency call involving a window washer, according to Fire Media Affairs.

That block of Superior was closed to traffic during the response, according to unconfirmed police dispatch reports.

The window washer apparently had trouble with his equipment and was unable to get back onto the roof of the building, a Fire Media Affairs spokesman said.

Fire crews helped him out and the situation was secured without injury.
