‘Black Bloc’ member denies threatening to blow up overpass

A 24-year-old anti-NATO protester pleaded not guilty Tuesday to making a false terrorist threat during the international summit here in May.
Sebastian Senakiewicz, of Chicago, threatened to blow up a train overpass and boasted about how he could hide explosives in a hollowed-out “Harry Potter” book. He also bragged that he had a car full of explosives and weapons, Cook County prosecutors said.
Senakiewicz is a self-described member of the notorious “Black Bloc” anarchist group and made the controversial comments because he was upset at the “lack of chaos” in Chicago, prosecutors said.
But despite Senakiewicz’s statements, no dangerous weapons were found in his home, authorities said.
Senakiewicz’s attorneys have suggested their client was possibly goaded by undercover officers into making the purported inflammatory comments while he was intoxicated.
Senakiewicz is being held in the Cook County Jail on $750,000 bail.
