Extra-alarm blaze in Woodlawn extinguished with no injuries

Firefighters battled an extra-alarm fire in a vacant apartment building in the South Side Woodlawn neighborhood Friday afternoon.
The two-alarm blaze was in a three-story, 50-by-100-foot apartment building at 6221 S. King Dr., according to Fire Media Affairs.
The fire started in the rear porch area of the vacant building.
The fire was out by about 2:10 p.m. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
