A Shetland pony that authorities in Kendall County say was struck by an ATV driven by a drunk driver in Yorkville was so badly hurt it had to be put down. Quintin P. Wissmiller, 33, of Yorkville, hit the 13-year-old female pony while heading south on the all-terrain vehicle Sunday on Brisbin Road near Helmar Road, according to the Kendall County sheriff’s office. The pony was named Dory. It had gotten loose from a farm a couple of miles away, sheriff’s Deputy Craig French said Monday. French said Dory belonged to the farmer’s daughter. Wissmiller was charged with DUI and with driving on a revoked driver’s license.
