Teen shot, killed in South Chicago neighborhood

A teenage boy was killed in a possible gang-related shooting Wednesday night in the South Chicago neighborhood, officials said.
The 17-year-old was shot in the neck about 10:05 p.m. in the 8900 block of South Brandon Avenue, according to police News Affairs.
The boy--identified as Romelo Golden, of the 8800 block of South Burley Avenue--was taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, where he was pronounced dead at 10:39 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office, which added that the preliminary cause of death was multiple gunshot wounds.
Police said they believe the shooting might be gang-related, but further details were not immediately available.
Area South detectives are investigating, but no one was in custody early Thursday.
