This year’s Chicago Blues Festival saw an increase in attendance.
City officials say attendance for last weekend’s music festival was more than 500,000. That’s 50,000 more audience members than in 2011. Officials say those extra people helped increase food and beverage sales by 26 percent to more than $760,000.
Musicians who performed at this year’s event included headliners Texas Johnny Brown and Floyd Taylor. Mavis Staples closed the festival on Sunday.
