Man killed, another injured in attempted robbery

One man was killed and another wounded Monday night during an attempted robbery in the Southwest Side Marquette Park neighborhood, police said.
The men were trying to get into a vehicle in the 7100 block of South Western about 10:25 p.m. when an armed person tried to rob them, police said.
The would-be robber opened fire, shooting both people in the chest, police said. A 31-year-old man was unresponsive at the scene, while a second victim was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.
