A man was injured when he fell between two train cars Monday night in the Loop, officials said.
The man, in his 60s, appeared to be intoxicated when he fell near the Library station, Chicago Transit Authorities officials said. The man apparently did not make contact with the electrically-charged third rail.
A passenger alerted CTA workers about the incident, police said, and power was quickly cut before the train could start moving.
Paramedics took the male to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in serious-to-critical condition about 7:15 p.m., fire officials said. The person was conscious and breathing, officials said. The man suffered an abrasion to his head, police said.
