A 13-year-old girl died Friday afternoon after she was seriously injured in a high-speed hit-and-run accident on the West Side.
Sade McGee was in a car that was rear-ended by another vehicle in the 5600 block of Washington Boulevard Thursday night, authorities said.
Sade, of the 3300 block of West Harrison Street, was taken in critical condition to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, where she later died.
A man and a woman, both 18 years old, were also injured in the crash and were listed in good condition at Stroger, police said.
The occupants of the second vehicle initially fled the scene, but two people were in custody as of Friday night. Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Daniel O’Brien said charges were pending against the two suspects.
