Bloomingdale boy, 11, dies in ATV accident in Bartlett

An 11-year-old Bloomingdale boy was killed in an ATV accident Thursday night in Bartlett. Samuel Sloan was struck by an all-terrain vehicle driven by a relative and wasn’t riding the ATV himself, according to Bartlett Fire Protection District Battalion Chief Ralph DeFreece. The accident happened in the 300 block of Apple Tree Lane in Bartlett. The Cook County medical examiner’s office says Sloan was airlifted from Central DuPage Hospital to Loyola Medical Center in Maywood, where he was pronounced dead.
