THAYER, Iowa — Three Chicago residents and an Iowa man have died in a head-on collision in southern Iowa. The Iowa State Patrol says the accident occurred a little after 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, two miles east of Thayer on U.S. Highway 34. A patrol accident report says an eastbound pickup driven by 44-year-old Laura Hileman-Dyson, of Murray, Ia., strayed across the center line. The driver of an oncoming car, 31-year-old Jessica Jackson, of Chicago, swerved to miss the truck, then both drivers swerved again and their vehicles collided, the police said. Jackson was killed. Hileman-Dyson, injured, was taken to a Des Moines hospital. Hileman-Dyson’s passenger, 44-year-old Randall Dyson, was killed, as were two passengers in Jackson’s car. There were identified as 28-year-old Mertin Harris and 35-year-old Kenya Ervin, both of Chicago.
