A biker was killed when he was thrown from his motorcycle on the Eisenhower Expressway and landed on the Kennedy Expressway Tuesday night at the Circle Interchange in the South Loop, police said.
Kemp Pond, 30, of the 700 block of Bartlett Avenue in Plainfield, died in the accident, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.
The motorcycle was on the ramp from the westbound Eisenhower Expressway (I-290) to the southbound Kennedy Expressway (I-94) when the biker lost control and struck a concrete barrier about 7:30 p.m., according to a release from Illinois State Police.
The biker was thrown from the motorcycle and landed in the southbound lanes of the Kennedy Expressway, the release said. State police said the biker wore a helmet at the time of the accident.
A Wednesday autopsy found Pond died of multiple injuries from the crash and ruled his death an accident, according to the medical examiner’s office.
