Freight train kills pedestrian in Lombard

A pedestrian was fatally struck by a freight train Wednesday night in west suburban Lombard, officials said.
The Union Pacific train fatally struck the pedestrian around 10:40 p.m., about 50 yards east of Finley Road in Lombard, Union Pacific spokesman Mark Davis said.
It was carrying freight from Chicago to North Platte, Neb.
