Man, teen charged in drive-by shooting witnessed by police sergeant

A man and a teen boy were charged in a drive-by shooting witnessed by an on-duty police sergeant Sunday night in the Morgan Park neighborhood.
The shooting occurred in the 11100 block of South Vincennes Avenue at 6:19 p.m., police said. A sergeant driving in a squad car saw shots being fired from a nearby car and began following it, police said.
A 17-year-old girl suffered a gunshot wound in her leg, and paramedics took her in good condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, police said, adding that no one else was injured.
The suspects in the car being followed jumped from the car and ran, but officers were able to chase them down, police said.
Three people were taken into custody, but one was released without charges, police said.
Leslie Borden, 20, and Narcellus Taylor, 16, was charged with aggravated battery with a firearm.
Both were ordered held in lieu of $300,000 bail Tuesday.
