Metra trains delayed after striking vehicle near Deerfield

One person was hospitalized after an outbound Metra Milwaukee North Line train struck a vehicle near north suburban Deerfield Tuesday morning.
Service in both directions has been restored as of about 8:15 a.m. after outbound Milwaukee North Line Train No. 2101 struck a vehicle about 7:30 a.m. near Halfday Road between the Deerfield and Lake Forest stations, Metra spokesman Tom Miller said.
One person was hospitalized with minor injuries, Miller said.
Train No. 2101 is running about 40 minutes late, and other inbound and outbound trains are running 10 to 30 minutes late, according to the Metra website.
