The Niles West High School community is seeing double thanks to the 14 sets of twins in the sophomore class.

The twins — some identical and some fraternal — posed for a photo last month in the courtyard of the Skokie school.

“One day a member of the sophomore class came to me and said ‘I’m a twin, and there seems to be a lot of us,’” Student activities director Jessica Ogulnik said.

So Ogulnik attempted to gather all the twins together to take an official headcount and snap a photo, but it proved to be a challenge when several pairs of twins failed to show up.

“It took two tries, but the second time was a charm,” Ogulnik said.

The known twins are Elijah and Zachary Gelfand, Payton and Taylor Genis, John and Joseph Yousif, Moonisah and Muhammad Singdi, Dimitrios and Savas Savidis, Isaac and Louis Reinemann, John and Mary Mucci, Megan and Melanie Kleppin, Brian and Stephanie Knorr, Faizan and Imran Ahmad, Anna and Zuzanna Antonow, Stacey and Stephanie Canchola, Alejandro and Mario Elvira, and Benjamin and Matthew Henry.
