No one was hurt when a fire started late Sunday at a Solo Cup Company factory on the city’s Far Southwest Side.

The blaze started about 11 p.m. inside a hopper at the Solo Cup facility, 7500 block of South Kostner Avenue, according to Fire Media Affairs.

Sprinklers held the fire in check, and firefighters using two hose lines quickly put out the flames, according to Fire Media Affairs. The blaze didn’t spread beyond the hopper and no one was hurt.

Solo Cup, headquartered in north suburban Lake Forest, makes the iconic red cup of the same name along with other disposable food service products.

A company official was not available early Monday.
