Suburban detectives arrested a Christian education professor at Wheaton College Thursday on charges of possessing child pornography photos and videos.
Donald Ratcliff, 60, of Carol Stream, was charged Thursday with two counts of aggravated child pornography, prosecutors said.
The former church pastor was arrested by Carol Stream detectives who are part of the Illinois Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
According to Wheaton College’s website, Ratcliff is a professor of Christian education and a faculty member since 2006.
“The allegations against Mr. Ratcliff are very disheartening,” DuPage County State’s Atty. Robert Berlin said. “The sad truth is that thousands of images depicting child pornography are distributed over the Internet every day. Each one of these photos is a victim of child pornography.”
Wheaton College, in a statement, said the school was told of Ratcliff’s arrest Thursday, and he’s being put on administrative leave.
