Teen struck while lying on Jane Addams dies

Northwest suburban Des Plaines police are conducting a death investigation after a 17-year-old boy died early Monday after he was struck by a vehicle while lying on the pavement on the Jane Addams Memorial Tollway (I-90).
The teen was struck by a vehicle on the outbound Jane Addams Memorial Tollway, according to a Des Plaines Police release.
Scott Wolf, 17, of the 200 block of Cambridge Street in Des Plaines, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.
A witness told police the boy was lying in a lane of traffic when he was hit.
The crash happened about 1 a.m. near South Elmhurst Road, police said.
Officers found the teen’s abandoned car on the Elmhurst Road overpass, police said.
A source said the vehicle was still running when authorities arrived.
All lanes of the outbound Jane Addams Memorial Tollway were closed for several hours while investigators worked to piece together what led up to the incident, police said.
Des Plaines Police are investigating.
