Person critically hurt in fall down stairs at CTA station

A male was hospitalized in critical condition late Sunday after he slipped and fell down a flight of stairs at a Northwest Side CTA station.

The fall happened about 11:12 p.m. at the Irving Park Blue Line station located in the 4100 block of West Irving Park Road, police News Affairs Officer Ronald Gaines said.

The male, of an unknown age, was taken in critical condition to Our Lady of Resurrection Medical Center, police said.

Police said the incident appears to be an accident and that there was no foul play involved.

No further details were immediately available early Monday.
