Man accused of having gun in carry-on bag at Midway

A 51-year-old South Side man was accused of carrying a handgun in his carry-on luggage Saturday at Midway Airport, officials said.
Police arrested Willie Thomas around 8:20 a.m. Saturday after a handgun allegedly was discovered inside his carry-on bag at a security checkpoint at the airport, police said.
Thomas, of the 8300 block of South Wabash, was charged with one count of felony boarding an airplane with a weapon, police said.
