The Chicago News Cooperative, which produces public-interest journalism online and for the New York Times, is closing down Feb. 26, the Chicago Reader is reporting.
The non-profit was launched in 2009. It has partnerships with WTTW-Channel 11 and WBEZ.
Founder James O’Shea told the Reader he went to the New York Times for financial support to keep the organization running, but the New York Times declined.
