A Niles North High School teacher and cheerleading coach was charged Monday with misdemeanor sexual exploitation of a child, school district officials said.
Jeffrey Tackes, of Bensenville, is suspended from the Skokie school until the case is resolved, according to Niles North High School District 219.
The school is working with the state DCFS, Skokie police, Bensenville police, students and parents who might have relevant information, the school district said.
“I remind everyone that our number one priority is the safety and security of our students,” the district said in a statement.
Tackes and police in Bensenville and Skokie could not be reached comment.
