Late Will County Board Member Frank Stewart will be remembered in Joliet Monday after a funeral in Ohio this weekend.
Stewart, the board’s minority whip and member since 1996, was found dead in his home Thursday. The 66-year-old was a diabetic and on a waiting list for a kidney transplant, county officials said.
A long-time community advocate, Stewart also served on the Joliet Grade School Board from 1987 to 2005.
A local memorial service will be held 7 p.m. Monday at Mount Zion Baptist Church, 402 Singleton Place, Joliet. He was a long-time member of the congregation.
A visitation and funeral are also planned for Saturday in Ohio. Stewart grew up in Cincinnati.
