Snow showers should end by nightfall, but more slush on the way

Snow showers and freezing drizzle made morning rush a mess for many Chicago commuters but should calm down by Tuesday night for Valentine’s Day revelers.

Still, the snow isn’t quite over. Wednesday night will see an 80 percent chance of a rain and snow combination with the low at 38 degrees, the National Weather Service said. And there’s also a 40 percent chance of rain and snow on Thursday.

The freezing drizzle and snow showers should stop before noon Tuesday with a high near 34 degrees. The low on Tuesday will dip to 32 degrees. Temperatures are staying consistent for the rest of the week with 39 degrees the high on Wednesday, and 37 degrees the low.

It was a late start, but this is winter after all.
