Nine people, including three children and four firefighters, were injured when a vehicle collided with a Chicago Fire Department truck Tuesday on the South Side, officials said.

The children and two adults were hospitalized in critical condition, while the firefighters were taken to a hospital in fair to good condition, fire officials said.

Some of the civilians were trapped in their car after the crash around 6:15 p.m. at South Halsted and West 128th, police said.
