Seven children and 11 adults were displaced after a restaurant on the ground floor of their West Side building caught fire early Monday.
The fire happened about 3 a.m. in a fast-food restaurant at 633 N. Cicero Ave., a Harrison District police lieutenant said. Residents were displaced after smoke filled the building, but some of them were already back home as of 5:30 a.m.
He said others would be able to return home later because there was no structural damage caused by the fire, which the lieutenant called “minor.”
No injuries were reported. The fire department was not immediately available for comment.
