Firefighters are battling an extra-alarm blaze on the West Side on Wednesday morning.

The fire, according to unconfirmed dispatch reports, is in a 2 1/2 story residential building at 4719 W. Arthington St. and an adjoining building. A second alarm was called at about 10:05 a.m., according to Fire Media Affairs.

The fire started in the larger building and spread to the rof of a vacant building to the east, Fire Media said. Firefighters had to deal with frozen hydrants, but they were opened quickly.

No injuries have been reported.
