'SONS OF ANARCHY" star Ron Perlman, who also gained fame from starring in one of my favorite TV series "Beauty and the Beast"(now in syndication) and the "Hellboy" films, dined and watched a World Series game at Harry Caray's Steakhouse downtown with radio personality Erich "Mancow" Muller. Perlman also dined at LaScarola.

THE FASHION SET: VOGUE Magazine's editor-at-large Andre Leon Talley, the flamboyant stylist/writer whom songstress Jennifer Hudson turned to for so many of her red carpet award appearances, will be in town this afternoon as the honoree at a $750-per-person high tea hosted by the Democratic National Committee at the Elysian Hotel. The tea will benefit Organizing for America. The host committee includes Chaz Ebert, Maria Pinto, Les Coney, Leslie Bluhm, Karen Berkowitz, Hilary Pisor and Amy Singh.

ALSO, MICHAEL KORS, the hot fashion designer and a regular judge on Heidi Klum's hit "Project Runway" reality series, is the special honoree at an intimate brunch and fashion show today hosted by Chicago's Whitney Lasky and Vogue mag. This elegant event will take place at Kors' new boutique on Michigan Avenue for a group of Chicago fashionistas who love to shop 'til they drop.

MORE FASHION NEWS: After 53 years at Saks FifthAvenue, fashion expert Nena Ivon is leaving to relax and write a tell-all book about her fabulous career in the world of fashion retail. She is featured in the current issue of Today's Chicago Woman along with three other fashionable notables -- Barbara Bates of Bates Design, Yvette at Mira Couture and Lauren Cavallo-Runzel of Gavin Boutique in Evanston. TCW's Sherren Leigh was among the honorees to receive an Athena award.

A STELLAR REMINDER: The Chicago Urban League's 48th annual "Golden Fellowship" black tie gala is Saturday at the Hilton Chicago with singer/guitarist George Benson headlining. . . . Comic/civil rights activist Dick Gregory will speak at the Chicago Humanities Festival Sunday at the Thorne Auditorium/Northwestern University Law School. The Sun-Times' Laura Washington will interview him.

PRE-VETERAN's Day News: Composer/musician and Vietnam veteran Kimo Williams, front man for the Lt. Dan Band, co-founded by "CSI:NY"superstar Gary Sinise, speaking about his work entertaining the military at the Rotary One luncheon Tuesday at the Union League Club. Williams is also an associate professor at Columbia College. Excerpts from Emmy-winning Rick Roberts' documentary about veteran artists and featuring Mayor Daley will be shown. The Lt. Dan band will entertain the troops in Afghanistan during Thanksgiving. . . . The Bears' Anthony Adams visited the students at the John C. Haines Elementary School where he helped the kids write letters to our troops abroad. . . . Vietnam vet Ken Karlson will sing the National Anthem at the Bulls game on Tuesday. .

THE MUSIC SET: A VIP listening and release party for the new CD "Silky Soul Music . . .
