Hats off to the late Philip H. Corboy

It was always a treat talking to Mr. Corboy, who was the nicest and classiest guy you could ever meet. That is probably why his wife, former Library Commissioner Mary Dempsey, fell so hard for him and has been at his side for the past 19 years.
Corboy also was part of the team of civic leaders that established the Irv Kupcinet Scholarship Fund in Broadcasting and Journalism at Columbia College Chicago in 2002 on Kup’s 90th birthday.
My condolences to his son, Philip “Flip” Corboy Jr., and the rest of the family and just know he was one of the best legal eagles of them all and now he has his real wings! R.I.P.
WFLD-Channel 32’s Anna Davlantes, co-anchor of “Good Day Chicago,” interviews actor Channing Tatum about his new movie “Magic Mike” on June 18. . . . And Fox anchor Robin Robinson has made Chicago Mag’s 20 “Sexy Singles” list for their July issue. The Bears’ Kahlil Bell also made the cut.
CONGRESSMAN BOBBY Rush, also pastor of Beloved Community Christian Church in Englewood, will honor on Father’s Day two amazing fathers — the Rev. Michael Pfleger of Saint Sabina Church and Curtis Moore, a retired policeman who raised six children alone who all attended college.
A FUND-RAISER for Congressional candidate Joseph P. Kennedy III, nephew of Chris Kennedy, is June 18 at Chicago Cut. Family friend Jay Doherty will make the political rounds with him.
RESTAURATEUR Alex Dana’s latest addition to his Rosebud chain is the Bar Umbriago, which is replacing Eatt on West Hubbard and officially opens June 27. . . . P. Diddy Combs has shuttered his Justin’s eatery in Atlanta.
