I ’M BACK FROM a one-week vacation and still on cloud nine over receiving the prestigious Dante media award from the Joint Civic Committee of Italian Americans at their sold-out luncheon May 17 at the beautiful Galleria Marchetti.

The house was packed with so many wonderful people, including my family, friends, colleagues, top politicians, many on-air media greats, judges, lawyers, corporate, business, civic and community leaders and educators. I love and appreciate that over 400 people took time out of their busy lives to help me celebrate. So many people came that I decided not to name names because I know there will be folks left out and I don’t want anyone to feel that they were less important.

The Dante award is given to a person in the media not afraid to tell the truth or “tell it like it is!” Many of the past awardees graced the dais and I referred to them as “the past Dantelicious honorees.”

Various proclamations and resolutions were issued in my honor from the mayor, the governor, the Illinois Senate, House of Representatives, the City Council, the Cook County Board, Clerk of the Circuit Court, the state comptroller and state treasurer.

A BIG THANK YOU to all and a special shout-out to my cool newspaper, the Sun-Times.

DRINK RESPONSIBLY: The soulful Robin Thicke, who is now on the new “Duets” reality singing competition show, and his lovely wife, actress Paula Patton (“Mission: Impossible — Ghost Protocol”), will promote Remy Martin VSOP by starring together in a TV commercial airing nationwide starting June 4. This will be their first ever ad campaign as a couple and will show Robin eyeing and following the flirting Paula throughout a party in a fantasy mansion, and they wind up on the rooftop sucking down some Remy. Paula also played his love interest in his sexy music video “Lost Without You” in 2006.

RICH BETHENNY FRANKEL, star of Bravo’s “Bethenny Ever After” and future talk show host, is the cover story for the Michigan Avenue mag out on Friday ... Christie Hefner talks about branding in the current issue of Today’s Chicago Woman.
