T HE SUN-TIMES reported on Wednesday that Juanita Jordan, ex-wife of Michael Jordan and mother of his three children, has put her luxurious Lake Shore Drive penthouse condo on the market for $5 million. Juanita, who is known for avoiding the press and has never let all of her wealth and fame go to her head and is still just “Juanita from the block (like J. Lo),” told me: “The penthouse is approximately 8,000 square feet with a rooftop deck and solarium on the 41st floor. The entire 40th floor has three bedrooms and a huge master suite with Jacuzzi.
“It also has 5 ½ bathrooms, granite countertops in the kitchen with stainless steel appliances. The living room, dining room, laundry room are located on the 40th floor. And the east and west side of the 39th floor has a family room and a recreational room with a specially designed ventilation system that was used to prevent smoke from traveling through the house when my ex-husband smoked cigars with his buddies,” said the civic-minded Jordan.
“The condo is right on the lake and in walking distance to everything, which makes it perfect for shopping, dining and going to the theater,” said Jordan. “We designed it for living and entertaining and it has the most amazing lake and city views.
“I absolutely love this condo and thought my children would eventually move into it, but Jeffrey, my oldest son, has already started his own marketing business and divides his time between Chicago and Florida, and my youngest son, Marcus, will be doing the same, when he finishes college. My beautiful daughter, Jasmine, is a freshman at Syracuse University in New York.”
