I T WAS REPORTED ON THE news that 43 New York gang members were arrested and indicted last week after bragging about their violent crimes, including murders, beatings, shootings, robberies, burglaries, grand larceny etc., on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. Little did they know that the Brooklyn police had put those vicious scumbags’ postings and videos under surveillance and were able to make those arrests with more to come.
I encourage America’s ignorant braggadocio criminals to continue posting on the Internet. It would be a public service, that’s for sure, and an aid to putting their butts behind bars. Kudos to the New York Police Department.
CARDINAL FRANCIS GEORGE will receive the Maryville Academy’s Guardian Medallion award at its March 3 gala at the InterContinental Hotel with WLS-Channel 7’s Paul Meincke emceeing.
CELEB COUPLES: So the Bears’ quarterback Jay Cutler and fiancee, reality star Kristin Cavallari, are expecting. Why is it that these sports, Hollywood, music celebs can find all the time in the world to lay down and have unprotected sex, get pregnant but can’t find the time to get to the altar? One thing I love about Beyonce and Jay-Z, they got married first before having Blue Ivy. Miss B gyrates her body like crazy on stage but off stage, she is classy, has morals and family values.
This society promotes unwed parenting by celebrities through media, and then expects teens and preteens to not have sex and to use protection. Rich celebs, though unwed, can afford the children they bring into this world, but the example they set is just not cool.
Cutler, 28, and Cavallari, 25, broke off their three-month engagement last summer and then were back together months later. He has been known to fumble the ball; hopefully, he won’t fumble this union. A piece of paper must be scarier than unprotected sex!
NOW COMES NEWS that supermodel Heidi Klum and balladeer Seal have split up after seven years of marriage and kids. Sad, but not shocking to me. They were overdoing it anyway with their ceremonial renewal of vows every year. They must have been concentrating more on their guest list and costumes, but at least they were married. . . . And what is up with Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt not making it official for the sake of all those kids? They got time to walk the red carpets, travel and adopt, but no time to say I do. . . . Maybe they really don’t! . . . And congrats to former Bear Tommie Harris, who married on New Year’s Eve.
A CASTING CALL for the role of “Little Inez” in the Tony Award-winning “Hairspray” musical opening April 12 at the Drury Lane Theatre. On Feb. 5, the producers will hold auditions starting at 1 p.m. to find a talented African-American girl, preferably 4-foot-6 or shorter, to be Inez. The address is 100 Drury Lane in Oakbrook Terrace. Appointments are not necessary. Bring a new picture/resume and sheet music . . . so you have to sing and hopefully, not off key! Call Robyn Robbins for more info: (630) 570-7277.
ABOUT TOWN: The Hawks’ Nick Leddy, Jimmy Hayes and Andrew Shaw dined at Carmine’s, and on a separate evening . . .

At a separate table, Aetna’s Dr. Linda O’Bannon and Judge Arnette Hubbard celebrated their mutual birthdays with jeweler Shell Reyes and interior designer Diana Harris and friends.
. . . The Bulls’ Taj Gibson, John Lucas and Mike James recently dined at Gibsons. . . .
The Bears’ Brian Urlacher, the Bulls’ Omer Asik, Carlos Boozer and Rip Hamilton, the Cubs’ Marlon Byrd and the Hawks’ Jonathan Toews all were in at Mastro’s over the weekend. . . . The Bears’ Israel Idonije relaxed at Jilly’s.
RUMOR has it that Dan Alberga’s Bella Luna Cafe on North Dearborn will be one of the shooting locations for the local version of VH-1’s “Mob Wives.”
