Chicago Public Schools students stuck without a school can ride the CTA for free during the teachers strike.
The Chicago Transit Authority announced Monday it will provide free rides to students who show their CPS identification cards or reduced fare cards to operators or customer assistants.
The free ride plan — good on CTA trains and buses — is for weekdays from 5:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
It’s intended to help students get to and from the 144 schools set up to house displaced kids during the strike.
