Peapod driver charged with battering a customer

A Peapod grocery deliveryman was charged with battery after a customer accused him of sexually assaulting her at her South Loop home Wednesday night, police said.
Guillermo Balingit, 36, of the 6000 block of West Byron, was charged with one misdemeanor count of battery in the incident at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Robert Perez said. The victim was a woman in her 20s who was a Peapod customer.
“Peapod considers the safety of its customers to be one of its top priorities. We conduct criminal background checks of all drivers,” Peapod said in a statement. Sun-Times Media
