A stick-up man who robbed a cabbie was caught after he left his ID in his victim’s taxi, prosecutors allege.
Antonio Crawford, 21, of Los Angeles, tried to pay for a cab ride in the 1200 block of South Ashland Tuesday night with a stolen credit card, Assistant Cook County State’s Attorney Toni Giancola said.
When the card wasn’t accepted, he allegedly threatened the cabbie with a 9mm handgun and made off with $100 cash, she added.
But Crawford, who was wanted in California on an existing warrant, had left his ID in the cab and was later arrested, she said.
Judge Ramon Ocasio on Sunday set Crawford’s bail at $250,000.
