Man killed in South Side drive-by identified

A man killed in a late Sunday shooting on the South Side has been identified.

Vince Hernandez, 30, of 4721 S. Damen Ave., was fatally shot at 4719 S. Damen Ave., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office. He was pronounced dead at Mount Sinai Hospital at 3:52 a.m. Monday

He was sitting in a parked vehicle in the 4700 block of South Damen Avenue was shot multiple times by somebody in a passing vehicle at 11:08 p.m. Sunday, police said.

The unidentified man in his 20s was pronounced dead at 3:52 a.m. at Mount Sinai Hospital, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office. An autopsy is scheduled for later Tuesday.

Wentworth Area detectives are investigating.
