$27M worth of cannabis found in moving truck in Franklin Park

Authorities found three tons of cannabis — worth more than $27 million — in a moving truck in west suburban Franklin Park Friday morning.

The Will County Cooperative Police Assistance Team (WCPAT) seized the cannabis from a moving truck in the 3900 block of Mannheim Road about 11 a.m., a release from WCPAT said.

The cannabis, which had an estimated value of $27 million, was found in a truck which was earlier abandoned in Stone Park.

Authorities also found a handgun and ammunition and are working to identify the invidividuals responsible for the importation and distribution of the drug.
