TMA employeee attacked while writing ticket in River North

A female Traffic Management Authority employee was punched repeatedly in the face by an angry motorist after she wrote him a ticket Friday evening in the River North neighborhood.
A TMA employee was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital for injuries suffered on the job on the 110 block of West Grand Avenue about 4:50 p.m., police News Affairs Officer Darryl Baety said.
The woman was writing a ticket when a man approached her, then struck her in the face repeatedly, police said. He then fled from the location but was soon found by a beat car that had been sent to investigate the attack.
The man remained in custody Saturday morning and charges were pending.
