A man was arrested in South Carolina on a warrant for a 2011 West Side shooting that left a man dead and a teen boy wounded in the Garfield Park neighborhood.

Lavonte Moore, 26, was arrested in South Carolina for a May 20, 2011 shooting in the 4700 block of West Van Buren Street, according to a release from police News Affairs. He was extradited to Chicago and charged with one count of first-degree murder.

Henry Taylor, 32, and a 17-year-old boy walked into Loretto Hospital about 6:25 p.m. and said they had been shot in the 4700 block of West Van Buren, authorities said at the time.

Taylor had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was later transferred to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, where he was pronounced dead at 8:08 p.m., the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office said at the time.

Moore is expected to appear in bond court Sunday, police said.
