NILES — A man was shot Sunday during a domestic dispute in north suburban Niles.
Officers responded at 7:40 p.m. to a report of domestic battery at a home in the 7200 block of Greenleaf, Niles police said. Officers learned while en route that a man had been shot in the leg and the suspect was still in the house.
A 52-year-old Niles man was arrested as he ran out of the front door of the home, police said.
A 25-year-old Niles man was shot in the left arm and left leg and taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, police said. He suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Witnesses inside the residence overheard the two arguing and someone say, “I will shoot you,” police said. A single gunshot was heard several seconds later.
A gun was found inside the home, according to police, who are still investigating.
