Five teenage roommates have been charged with breaking in to a University of Illinois at Chicago building and stealing $35,000 worth of musical equipment — equipment that was recovered when one of the five tried to sell it at a pawn shop on South Clark Street, Cook County prosecutors said Saturday.
The five live in the 400 block of South Morgan Street and all are students, according to police reports.
The musical equipment was stolen over the period Sept. 25 to Oct. 14 from a campus building in the 1000 block of West Harrison.
