Police on Thursday released a sketch of a man they’re looking for in the sexual assaults of two women and a 14-year-old girl early Wednesday in the Washington Heights neighborhood.
In the first attack about 3 a.m. Wednesday, a man sneaked in through an open window and attacked a 43-year-old woman and a 22-year-old while they slept in their home in the 10300 block of South Emerald Avenue, police said.
After that attack, police think the same man tried to sexually assault an 11-year-old girl in her bedroom in the 10100 block of South Green Street. The girl’s father told officers he heard a dog barking and then heard his daughter scream. He ran to his daughter’s room and saw a man peeking out of her closet, police said. The suspect then jumped out the window and ran off.
Then the man approached a 14-year-old girl who was walking to a bus stop about 6:40 a.m. in the 10000 block of South Peoria. He came up behind the girl, put a knife to her throat and sexually assaulted her in a nearby yard, police said.
