A 14-year-old boy allegedly shot another teen after showing him and others a gun he found in west suburban Aurora Friday.
Officers received a call of a person shot about 10:20 p.m. in the area of Boulder Court and Blackstone Drive and found a 14-year-old boy shot in the leg, Aurora police said.
The shooting occurred when the other boy was showing the gun to the victim and two other teens, ages 15 and 17, police said.
The boy’s injury is not life threatening, police said. He was initially hospitalized at an Aurora hospital and was later transferred to another suburban hospital, police said. No one else was hurt.
The gun was recovered inside the boy’s home, police said.
The 14-year-old boy was charged with reckless discharge of a firearm and is being held at Kane County Youth Home, police said.
