Man shot in head in South Shore neighborhood

A 19-year-old man was shot in the head Thursday afternoon in the South Shore neighborhood, police said.
The shooting happened about 3:40 p.m. Thursday in the 1900 block of East 72nd Street, Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said.
The man was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, police said.
No one was in custody. Area South detectives were investigating.
