Police warn of Hyde Park robberies

Police are searching for a man suspected of breaking into and robbing several Hyde Park buildings on the South Side.

The man breaks in through a back door or window and steals laptops, televisions, currency, jewelry, tablets and other small electronic items, according to the community alert from Area Central detectives.

The robberies happened in the:

◆ 5200 block of South Drexel Boulevard

◆ 5200 block of South Greenwood Avenue

◆ 1000 block of East 53rd Street

◆ 5100 block of South Ellis Avenue

◆ 5100 block of South University Avenue

◆ 5400 block of South University Avenue

◆ 800 block of East 52nd Avenue.

Police had only a vague description of the robber.
