One dead, seven shot across the city since Friday night

A man was killed and at least seven other people were wounded in shootings across the city late Friday into Saturday morning.
A man in his 20s was found on the ground with a gunshot wound to the head at 7:05 a.m. in the 5100 block of South Ellsworth Drive in the South Side Washington Park neighborhood, police said. He was dead at the scene. The Cook County Medical Examiner’s office confirmed the death.
Shortly before midnight, two men were shot during a fight in Wicker Park.
The men were in the park in the 1400 block of North Damen Avenue when they were shot about 11:45 p.m., police said.
A 35-year-old man was shot in the leg and taken in critical condition to Mount Sinai Hospital, police said. A 29-year-old man was taken in critical condition to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County with gunshot wounds to the right arm and stomach.
About 4:20 a.m., a male was shot in the 5500 block of South Western Avenue, police said. The male, whose age was not immediately known, was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition with a gunshot wound to the mouth.
One person was taken into custody, police said.
Less than an hour earlier, an 18-year-old man was shot in the 3300 block of West 26th Street, police said.
He was hanging out the back window of a vehicle, shouting gang slogans at another group of people, when someone from the group opened fire on him, police said. He was shot in the back and arm and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition.
About 2:20 a.m., a 22-year-old man was shot in the chest and buttocks after he refused to let someone into a party in the 7800 block of South South Shore Drive, police said. He was taken to Advocate Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn in critical condition.
About a half hour earlier, a man in his 60s was shot on the Near West Side, police said. He suffered a graze wound to the face in the 2100 block of West Van Buren Street. He was taken to Stroger Hospital in good condition.
Just before midnight, an 18-year-old woman was shot in the arm in the 3000 block of South Tripp Avenue, police said. She took herself to Loretto Hospital where she was listed in “stable” condition.
