$2 million bond for Cicero man charged in Bridgeport shooting

A Cicero man was ordered held on $2 million bond Monday on charges of killing a man and wounding two others at a party in a Bridgeport apartment early Saturday.
Vidal Martinez, 20, was charged with first-degree murder; attempted first-degree murder, and two counts of aggravated battery/discharge of a firearm, police said.
Martinez is accused of shooting three people in the 3800 block of South Halsted about 2:45 a.m. Saturday after a fight at a party, police said.
Daniel Ortiz, 21, of Monee, was shot in the chest and died at the scene, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.
A 21-year-old man was shot in the head and was in critical condition at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, police said.
A 25-year-old man was shot in the leg and found in a vehicle that had crashed in the 4300 block of South Wentworth a short time later, police said. He was treated at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and released.
Martinez will next appear in court on Tuesday, according to the Cook County sheriff’s office.
