Three men wounded in separate shootings on South Side

Three men were injured Wednesday in separate shootings on the South Side.

About 8:05 p.m. Wednesday, a man in his 30s was shot in the chest about in the 8200 block of South Avalon in the Avalon Park neighborhood, police said. He was in serious condition on the scene, but hospital information was not immediately available, authorities said.

Earlier, an 18-year-old man was wounded in a shooting in the McKinley Park neighborhood. Two males on bicycles approached the man, who was standing in the 3700 block of South Honore. One of the cyclists shot the man in the upper chest about 5:25 p.m., and he was taken to Stroger Hospital, police said.

About 2:40 p.m. Wednesday, a 25-year-old man was shot in the left leg in the 3900 block of South Cottage Grove, police said. He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
