Waukegan cops investigate homicide after finding woman’s body in home

Police found the body of a Waukegan woman during a well-being check Sunday night at her home.

About 8:30 p.m. Sunday, Waukegan Police went to a home in the 200 block of West Drive in an attempt to locate Monica L. Williams, 28. Family members had reported they had been unable to locate her, according to a police statement.

Williams’ body was found in the home and police have classified her death as a homicide. The Lake County Coroner’s office was scheduled to perform an autopsy on Monday but was not releasing information.
